Secrets on Foil

Simbart Projects hosts represented artist Melis Erdem's first solo exhibition titled 'Secrets on Foil’ between 11 May and 17 June. While the artist reflects her own feelings to the viewer with the layers of paint and various interventions on canvas, she also reconstructs reality in the solid forms she produces with industrial materials such as iron. The damaged forms in the artist's sculptures and the imperfect patterns in her paintings emphasize the artist's change and transformation in the production process, while at the same time opening the space for the viewer to reflect their own experiences, feelings and thoughts like a mirror.
